A graduate of the Prague film school FAMU, documentary film department. From 1988 - 1991 he attended the National Film and Television School, in Beaconsfield, Great Britain, on a scholarship. He routinely made his films with the Association of Film and Sociology, working with them on several long-time-horizon projects. He devoted himself mostly to documentary films, but his experiments with the form took him also to animation. He began teaching at FAMU, documentary film department, in 1991.. In April 2006, he died tragically during the shooting of a film.
