Slovakian by birth, from 1991 -1998 he studied film directing at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Faculty of film and Television, Bratislava. After his graduation he taught film directing at the Academy and was a leader, together with professor Dušan Hanák, of a creative studio effort. He shoots mostly documentary films.
