ivetka and the mountain
ivetka a hora
A film about a young girl whose unique story began on 5 August 1990 when she was ten years old. On the mountain Zvir in northwest Slovakia, together with a friend and her younger brother, she experienced a vision of Mary, mother of Jesus. In the five years that followed, 100,000 people made a pilgrimage to the place of her vision and the little girl became, for many, an icon. Iveta is now 27 years old. She’s forward-looking and, at the same time, wants to find a way to understand more deeply the process of her life up until now. She is the main character of this personal film, the subtitle of which could easily be: To Live One’s Own Life – With a Vision. The film starts from a position of skepticism, but also of respect for the singular experience of the main character. Through its directness and unbelief, it will try to bring her closer to herself as well as to others.
